Meet Your Maker: Ella Dwyer of Fox and Fawns

"I wanted to do Hover Craft this year because the event is such a great "Milwaukeean" thing to do (I think I just made up a word).  My idea was to make things with mostly found objects.  Deer teeth, scrap fabrics and brush from the beach and woods have made it into my work.  To put a twist on them and make them into something fun and affordable.  It will be a ball to be around so many friends who are also selling this year and to see the community out purchasing local handmade gifts."

When she isn't making things, she is addicted to scouring thrift stores for weird objects.  Her favorite thing is driving around Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula where she is from and where she still has family.  Thrifting not only stocks her internet store Fox and Fawns, but the ephemera she collects helps inspire her art.  Dwyer will have an accumulation of objects for sale at Hover Craft including jewelry made from gold-leafed deer teeth and voodoo dolls.
